Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

At GNC, we understand that verbal and written communication may not always be possible. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods can enhance or replace speech. Our speech pathologists help individuals by:

  • Improving non-verbal skills like gestures and facial expressions.
  • Using visual aids such as pictures and written words.
  • Utilising electronic devices like iPads with communication apps.
  • Accessing speech-generating devices.

With our trial setup of Control Bionics AAC system, including the UNO Touch and Trilogy systems, we provide touch, EMG, and motion control options for AAC, giving our team greater accessibility to trial devices with clients in need.
