Meet our Podiatrist: Jakob McCorkell
Jakob grew up in Warrnambool. His childhood consisted of surfing, running and competing in as many forms of sport as possible. Jakob’s interest in health care was sparked by observing difficulties his younger brother who lives with a complex movement disorder experienced accessing health services in the country growing up.
With many years of involvement in private podiatry practice, sporting clubs, specialty footwear retail and disability support work, Jakob is now passionate about helping individuals of all abilities get the most out of themselves physically.
Jakob enjoys listening to and understanding the causes behind your concerns and working with you and your health care team to provide the best solutions.
He is positioned to help by providing podiatry care to reduce foot health risk as well as prescribing specialised inserts (orthotics) and braces (AFO’s) to support/accommodate movement within the feet. Jakob is also able to prescribe footwear to suit your goals and foot type as well as prescribe exercises and provide hands on treatments for foot and leg pain.
Outside of the clinic Jakob still loves his surfing and endurance running, he also enjoys volunteering and is involved in disabled surfing and skating organisations as well as the Find Your Voice All abilities Choir.
