Meet our Exercise Physiologist: Brenton Rees
Brenton graduated from Deakin University having completed his Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and Honours in Waurn Ponds in 2016, followed by a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology inBurwood. Brenton has hands-on experience in the industry since 2014, working in a number of gyms and community health centres, before joining the Optimal Health and Rehab team in 2020. He is highly driven to have a positive impact on others, using exercise as medicine for all individuals.
Brenton grew up in Sale, Gippsland and has been passionate about exercise since he was a child, enthusiastic about all sports. Brenton is a former Geelong VFL footballer, having experience in high performance sport. Brenton has a strong interest in all neurological conditions, including stroke,Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and Huntington’s disease. Brenton also has a special interest in mental health, athletic performance, and overall health. Brenton enjoys facilitating positive patient outcomes by building good rapport with patients along their journey, ensuring they not only progress but enjoy the process along the way.
In his spare time Brenton practices what he preaches, playing football, getting out in nature, running, reading, playing guitar, watching sport and spending time with loved ones.
